Estimation of Iodine Leaching in Soil Amended with Organic and Inorganic Materials Using HYDRUS 1-D Model

چکیده

This study investigated the ability of a HYDRUS 1D model for predicting vertical distribution potassium iodine (200 ppm) in soil columns after amendment with five different common remediation materials (gypsum, lime, fly ash, charcoal, and sawdust) at rate 2.5% (w/w), relative to an unamended control soil. Results showed that soil, leaching was decreased by all amendments but magnitude decreases varied applied. Iodine content highest upper layer progressively depth. The evaluated via comparison simulated values measured from column studies. results efficiency near 1, indicating stimulated values. Therefore, this through could be ascertained well using model. over predicted leaching, weak correspondence between leaching. suggests HYDRUS-1D does not explain accurately organic inorganic amended preferential flow occurs these columns. may due fact Freundlich isotherm, which is part transport equations, sufficiently describe mechanism adsorption onto particles. would help select effective management strategy reduce exogenous losses agro-ecosystems. also improve scientific understanding profile.

Sorption, degradation and leaching of pesticides in soils amended with organic matter: A review

The use of pesticides in modern agriculture is unavoidable because they are required to control weeds. Pesticides are poisonous; hence, they are dangerous if misused. Understanding the fate of pesticides will be useful to use them safely. Therefore, contaminations of water and soil resources could be avoided. The fates of pesticides in soils are influenced by their sorption, decomposition and m...

Analysis of 2,4-D residues in soil profile using HYDRUS-1D model

ABSTRACT- Despite the benefits of herbicides, their persistence in soil can harm other plants in next rotations and contaminate ground water. The main purpose of this research is to simulate 2,4-dichlorophenoxyaceticacid(2,4-D) movement in silty clay loam soil using HYDRUS-1D model in a corn root zone. The maximum contaminant level goal, MCLG, of 2,4-D in water resources is 10 ppb. The 3.5 kg a...

Investigation of leaching kinetics of zinc from a low-grade ore in organic and inorganic acids

The leaching kinetics of a low-grade zinc oxide ore in different acid media was investigated with respect to the experimental variables including acid concentration, temperature, liquid to solid (L/S) ratio, and stirring speed. The results obtained showed that the leaching reagent concentration and the reaction temperature exerted significant effects on the extraction of zinc, whereas the L/S r...
